About Me
Hello, I’m Scott, a pet and landscape photographer from Glasgow, Scotland. What got me into photography?
I grew up in a household having owned dogs and my grandparent’s had a dog, they were always a big part of my life, even my earliest memories of my old golden Labrador who used to guard over me when I was just a baby. As they were a big part of my life I fully understand what those furry creatures mean to us, they are more than just pets, they are family members who we cherish, love and adore that never fail to cheer us up and make us laugh. They’re always waiting for us when we go out the door and come home and always by our side.
I also had the fortune of living with and looking after three adorable cats for a year and can safely say I love them just as much and although different natured to dogs, they love in their own way.
So what influenced me with photography?
I have long loved photography since I was a ‘wee’ boy. I remember having my first point and shoot Kodak disposable film camera. Even as I grew older, getting my first digital camera I had the desire to capture pictures of my travels and memories to share with people.
Photography, in my eyes, is more than just a fancy picture, a still image, it is an experience, a memory we can fondly look back on that reminds ourselves of special moments that bring out different emotions and that we can cherish. Much like the old photographs I have of my old dogs as they’re memories that never leave you.
My love for photography led to my desire to study photography, which I went onto study at the City of Glasgow College and graduated having gained the necessary skills. Given my love of animals, for nature and pets knowing full well just what they mean to us it drew me towards pet photography. Whilst pets can be very challenging, it is my desire to capture them in all their glory showing their natural self.
There is nothing more rewarding than capturing photographs that mean so much to people and that will bring me just as much joy as photographing these furry animals and landscapes.
